ändra upplösning?

Hur ändrar jag upplösningen? Jag har en 1280x1024 skärm men max-upplösningen är 1024x768(en riktig plåga): min xorg.conf ser ut såhär:

Jag ändrade fölande i förhoppningen att nåt skulle hända: "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600". Det stod ursprungligen: "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
Så jag ändrade upp det ett snäpp. För säkerhets-skull har jag gjort en back-up på xorg.conf

Så gjorde jag med fast jag la bara till 1280x940... Så jag vet inte vad som kan vara problemet.

Ibland glömmer man att starta om x efter man har ändrat i xorg.
Tryck ctrl+alt+backspace (bakåtpil) för att starta om x. Logga sedan in och kolla om din upplösning står med under System -> Inställningar -> Skärmupplösning.
Alternativt kan du configurera om hela xorg.conf med kommandot:

xorg.conf ser ut så här och den har alltid gjort det(=har inte ändrat i den).

Gör som jag gjorde och tvinga han att använda 1280x1024 d.v.s. ta bort dem andra. OPS ta backup på xorg först.

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /home/dittLoginNamn/xorg.conf.backup
för att återställa:
sudo cp /home/dittLoginNamn/xorg.conf.backup /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Jag ändrade till bara "1280x1024"....och nu fick jag en hel del skumma modes...typ 1280 x 800 med mera..men inte den jag letade efter...annars kan man väl lista alla upplösningar upp till dom på 2000 eller vad det nu är....är nån villig att göra en lista åt mig?

Sen är det lite beroende vilken drivare man kör...OggVorbis siggen tyder på att man kör "rent"

Jo då får du väl bara bocka i upplösningen med ett mellanslag.
samt sedan starta om X med Ctrl-Alt-Backsteg och sedan kolla upplösningen i Meny System> Inställningar.
Kör man 3D drivare får man då även kolla det via tex nVidia-settings
