Ubuntu Sverige

Jag har precis installerat Ubuntu 6.10 för AMD64 på mitt Asus M2NPV-VM AM2 moderkort.

Det inbyggda nätverkeskortet fungerade direkt. Grafiken fick jag igång genom att ladda ner NVidia drivrutinerna via Synatic.

Dock så fungerar inte ljudet. Jag har laddat ner chipsetdrivrutierna från Asus:

Jag kan starta en installation i Terminaln när jag loggat in som root... men sen tar det stopp.
Det här är förmodligen banalt för dom som kan det. Men jag behöver hjälp med hur jag kommer vidare.

Testa att installera paketet "build-essential", det bör räcka, plus att du kommer att få mindre problem om du skall bygga något från källkod i framtiden.

Om du inte vill installera hela build-essential så kanske det räcker att installera paketet "libc" (det heter antagligen "libc6") och paketet "libc6-dev". Dock är jag inte säker.

Felmeddelandet du får betyder just att du inte har utvecklingsbiblioteket för C installerat, eftersom installationen verkar använda det.

Jag provade att lägga till "build-essential" och nu gick det lite längre, men det funkar fortfarande inte

Efter det at det står "No precompiled kernel interface was found..." och man trycker på ok så står det:
"Building Kernel module:"
och en stapel går upp till 100%.

Tyvärr så blir dock bara resultatet:
"ERROR: The NVIDIA kernel module was not created".

Några fler förslag på hur man gör? jag har sett att det finns folk som kör Ubuntu 6.10 på Asus M2NPV-VM moderkort så det ska tydligen gå.

Tyvärr har jag inte tid att förklara hur du gör det där med GRUB, eftersom jag måste iväg nu. Någon annan kan säkert förklara (eller så förösker jag lösa det när jag kommer hem) (om du vill klura själv så går det iallafall ut på att du skall ändra i filen /boot/grub/menu.lst, men se till att du tar backup om du testar! och se till att ha LiveCDn till hands.)
