While that is appreciated, it doesn't truly solve the problem. Why are the browser's settings so susceptible to outside interference? Instead of focusing on a cat and mouse game of resetting altered settings, the company should instead make the browser settings secure.

Som också sägs tidigare i artikeln, är detta ett Windows-problem, och problemet där är hur programinstallationer går till. Installationsprogram hämtas från någon webbsida och körs sedan som administratör (motsv. root), och kan därmed göra vad det vill med både systemets och användarens filer, liksom med registret. Och mot den bakgrunden är det rimligt att kräva att utvecklare av webbläsare skall lösa problemet? Det är förstås operativsystemet som måste bestå med den säkerheten.
