Linux Lite ( "Ubuntu Linux variant with a customised Xfce" ) är framtagen av "linuxdistrocommunity.com" för att stödja Linux och visa hur enkel en övergång från Windows till Linux kan vara.
"This release implements many significant changes including a new theme, new icon set and a new Games menu including Steam (beta) and a link to the Humble Bundle website. This release is to facilitate feedback on the new additions. This will be the last release before the 1.0.4 final."

"This distro was created for three reasons,” wrote Jerry Bezencon in the official announcement on Friday. “One, to show people just how easy it can be to use a Linux-based operating system--to dispel myths about how scary Linux operating systems are; two, to help create awareness about Linux-based operating systems; and three, to help promote this community."
