Ubuntu install, can I install on one computer, then move the drive to another computer to use it? Was curious if I could install Ubuntu on one computer, then pull the hard drive out and put it into another computer to use it?

Hi,

Did you know this is the Swedish ubuntu forum?
But yes, you can move the drive - shouldnt be any problems.

X May need another configuration file if you run nvidia or ati on the first machine, and there isnt a likewise card in the second.

And also make sure to put the drive in the same place in the second machine, as in first master.
This is because grub resides in the first block on the first drive "master boot record" and when grub attempts to load the kernel it needs to know where it is.

natalie,
If you know Swedish language please use Swedish in this forum. If you don't - stay with English, maybe someone can still help you in English.
Thread moved to category "installation".
