Ubuntu Sverige

Sitter med en burk med Ubuntu Server Edition 9.04 ( 32-bitars för att vara exakt ).
Har suttit ett antal timmar för att försöka kunna spela .mp3-filer.
Jag har testat med att installera ubuntu-restricted-extras utan resultat (första jag gjorde).
Har testat xmms2, mplayer och försökt installera vlc-nox (men sudo apt-get install vlc-nox var förbjuden att hämta från föråden ).

Har tagit min nattmedicin så jag är lite flummig just nu men här är lite terminalloggar när jag försöker spela upp musik via xmms2 och mplayer

Som jag tolkar det så försöker mplayer att ansluta till pulseaudio (ljudservern) utan att lyckas. Efter det försöker den med alsa och lyckas bättre.

Mitt tips är att installera

alsa-utils och justera volymen med kommandot alsamixer. Pulseadudio borde du klara dig utan.

Fråga mig inte vad jag gjorde, men nu får jag ljud när jag spelar upp låtar via mplayer. Dock vill xmms2 fortfarande inte fungera. Nåja jag är iaf i rätt rikting

MOC ( http://ubuntu-se.org/wiki/Multimedia/MOC ) är nog den bästa terminalbaserade musikspelaren jag skådat

Nu helt plötsligt kände mocp för lägga av med att fungera utan att jag gjort något

Vad jag kan lista ut genom "FATAL_ERROR: No valid sound driver" är att det inte finns några drivrutiner för ljudkortet installerat. Hur råder man bot på detta?

Har hittat en omväg förbi problemet:
1. Starta Servern och logga in och starta mocp
2. Starta putty logga in och sen starta mocp
3. lyssna på fet musik.

Det jag vill är att slippa är punkt ett.
