I "uppstartsprogram" har jag valt att fönsterhanteraren compiz ska startas i stället för metacity genom att lägga till kommandot "compiz --replace". Ändå så är det metacity som startar varje gång. För att lösa problemet har jag fusion-icon, men jag hade hellre velat ha compiz (eller xfwm4) direkt vid uppstart. Hur kommer det sig att metacity alltid startar, och hur löser jag det?

Nu snackar jag fönsterhanterare, inte fönsterdekorator. Jag gillar GTK window decorator, den känns snabbare än emerald och fungerar bättre för mig. Skrivbordseffekterna fungerar fint, jag kan använda compiz och alla spel jag installerat funkar (t.ex. AssaultCube som använder 3D-grafik).

Den säger alltså att jag inte har Xgl, men hur kommer det sig då att det funkar när jag byter med fusion-icon?

om du har skrivbord effekter, så är det compiz som hanterar fönsterna.

Samt att skärmen blinkade flera gånger när jag skrev det.

Den verkar fortfarande inte hitta xgl. Någon som kan hjälpa?

Men inte fan kör du XGL eller? Eller har du en specialare?

Nej, jag ville bara testa alla möjliga lösningar som jag kunde hitta på, men det hjälpte ju så klart inte. Dock verkar det som om jag förstörde hela Xorg när jag gjorde det för när jag startade datorn i morse så fick jag inte fram något grafiskt utan bara en konsol. Jag lyckades återställa Xorg-filerna till standard, men skärmen beter sig fortfarande lite konstigt. Skärmen flimmrar när jag väljer att köra igång metacity (för i början får jag ingen fönsterhanterare alls) och vill inte byta till compiz (den fastnar mitt i processen). Men jag får väl skapa en ny tråd om det efter jobbet (slutar 20.00).

Om inte starta upp gconf-editor och kika i nycklarna desktop > applications > window_manager
där är både current och default för mig "/usr/bin/compiz"
Min försöker också använda xgl men hittar det inte, fungerar i alla fall bra

ett par steg nedanför applications fortfarande under desktop har jag en nyckel som kallas session > required_components
filemanager | nautilus
panel | gnome-panel
windowmanager | gnome-wm

hade annat problem, men det verkade hjälpa att ändra det såhär.
Hade ingen fönsterhanterare alls plötsligt så. Men har fortfarande bekymmer med att nautilus inte verkar styra skrivbordet "högerklicksmeny och skrivbordsikoner"
Kan inte minnas jag gjort några större förändringar på systemet heller. :p
Kanske hjälper någon annan med gnome.
vet inte hur det ser ut för xubuntu och kubuntu dock. Visa oss era nycklar liksom!
