hur avinstallerar jag program bäst?
använder jag sudo apt-get remove så är det massor filer och kataloger som inte försvinner?

"sudo apt-get purge" tar bort mer än "sudo apt-get remove" (också konfigurationsfiler ska tas bort).
Sedan skadar det nog inte att köra "sudo apt-get autoremove" ibland också:
autoremove
autoremove is used to remove packages that were automatically
installed to satisfy dependencies for some package and that are no
more needed.
