Ljud i 8.04 med E-mu0404

Hejsan forumet!
Är relativt ny med Ubuntu, har kört lite Linux innan, andra smaker dock.

Nå, jag vill spela in mitt gitarrplågande i Linux på samma sätt som jag gör med Sonar Cakewalk i WinXP samt använda min VoX Tonelab (har spdif, midi och vanlig analog utgång).
Fick hjälp av en mycket kompetent kompis att kompilera drivarna för 0404'an och allt funkade, en stund........

Är ganska, inte helt, säker på att jag har ändrat några inställningar som gör att det blivit stumt.

I Alsamixer kan jag se en jä... massa reglage för inställningar av bas, diskant, pcm osv.

Så vitt jag fattar ser ju allt detta bra ut (och lät väldigt bra så länge det varade). Det är extremt frustrerande att ha haft ljud som i mina öron lät bättre än i Windows (klarare, renare).
Alla tips om hur jag skall lösa detta mottages med största tacksamhet. Vill lämna Windowsvärlden och köra mitt inspelande i Linux om det är möjligt.
En fråga till bara; hur lägger jag in bilder i mina inlägg.Tog en fin på Alsamixer som jag gärna hade visat er....

Jo jag kör också med en Audigy krets och problemet är "buggar".... flera av dom.

Sedan bör du även kolla in Ubuntu-Studios paket

Nu måste du sedan ängna lite tid åt wikin men audiometapaketet är nog en höjdare för en musiker.

Tack Pun för ditt extremt snabba svar! ; )

Pulse audio är inte ett alternativ i sammanhanget vad jag förstått av min kompis som hjälpte mig. Det var en av problemkällorna!!!!
Däremot provar jag gärna Studio ; )

Så min första fråga kvarstår...... Varför lade ljudet av och hur fixar jag det igen. Ska läsa vidare......

PulseAudio har du redan och det är det som buggar.

Guiden är enkel för den som pillrat förut.

Sen får du nya PulseAudio GUIs som Ubuntu tyvärr gömde undan.
Equalizer blir även igång

Nej, vi avinstallerade pulse audio just för att det är en problemkälla.
Det var efter detta de installerade om Alsa från grunden och fick ljudet att funka, kort......

Jo problemet är ju ett firmware som är för dåligt och kompilerar man om så ska det bara funka

Har du satt kortet som default ?

Att ta bort PulseAudio är jag sedan ganska säker på att det bara medför mer trubbel och lösningen är ju enkel, men
huvudsaken är att man vet vad man gjort eftersom det är standard.

Tack för all input så här långt, uppskattas verkligen. Killen som hjälpte mig har ca 15 år unix/linux/terminalvana. Gjorde allt via remote desktop från Kalmar (jag bor i Göteborg). Kul att se menyerna samt terminal flasha förbi och sedan faktiskt få ljud. Men se'n känner ni ju storyn..

Tack för all input så här långt, uppskattas verkligen. Killen som hjälpte mig har ca 15 år unix/linux/terminalvana. Gjorde allt via remote desktop från Kalmar (jag bor i Göteborg). Kul att se menyerna samt terminal flasha förbi och sedan faktiskt få ljud. Men se'n känner ni ju storyn..

Kommer ingenstans med detta.
Får fippla runt lite eller installera om skiten men det tror jag inte hjälper eftersom vi var tvungna att göra allt jobbet efter "normal" installation.............
