Grub: Windows finns inte med.

Efter att ha gjort en (något märklig ubuntu-installation kanske) så har grub tappat bort min windows-installation.
Jag är helt tokgrön på linux, så skriv inte bara att jag ska ändra i den och den filen, skriv gärna hur jag ska skriva för att öppna filen:)
Jag misstänker att det har att göra med /boot/grub/menu.lst ...?

Men detta verkar endast vara för om windows har skrvit om mbr:en, mitt problem är omvänt.
Det verkar som om brub har glömt bort att jag ska kunna boota windows oxå?

Jag har ingen kunskap om GRUB alls, men om du uppdaterar GRUB så tycker jag Windows borde komma med?

Den fil som styr alternativen för grub är menu.lst. Du kan öppna den filen med skrivrättigheter genom att trycka på Alt-tangenten ocg F2-tangenten samtidigt och skriva
gksudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst i rutan som kommer upp. Du måste ange ditt lösenord.
Bläddra ner nästan längst ner i filen, där brukar det se ut något i stil med detta

Kan det vara så att du har tagit bort Windows när du installerade Ubuntu? Finns hårddisken/partitionen med Windows som en ikon på skrivbordet?

Pyd, du kan börja med att gå in i menu.lst och leta upp raden där det står hiddenmenu. Sätt ett #-tecken framför.
Det här gör att du kan se vilka alternativ du har och om Windows finns med på listan.
Ändra sedan raden där det står timeout 3 genom att istället för 3:an skriva 30, så får du 30 sekunder att välja på.
Sedan skriver du så här längst ner i filen, som vulfgar föreslog.
