Ser du om XP-disken är monterad i Ubuntu? Om inte, prova att byta till nya kablar på XP(med tanke på att du plockade i ur tidigare). Kabelfel är ganska vanligt.

Den är monterad. Det är bland det första jag gör, eftersom det är där jag har alla dokument och sånt.
Men det där med kablarna var ett hett tips. Senaste gången jag installerade om Ubuntu kan jag nämligen ha skiftat plats på dom. Jag hade nämligen problem med att XP startade automatiskt utan att Ubuntu kom upp som alternativ, och drog då slutsatsen att det var felkopplat. Men jag ska pröva igen.
Det enda vi behöver XP till är ju min sambos bank-id, så det uppstod en akut situation när hon skulle begära föräldrapenning och vi bara tog för givet att XP skulle finnas som alternativ. I stället fick vi alltså öppna och dra ur kabeln till Ubuntu.

Nu har jag samma problem igen fast på ett nytt sätt. Jag har installerat Ubuntu 10.04 Remix på samma hårddisk som XP och Wubi, men 10.04 kommer inte upp alls som startalternativ. Jag lyckades smyga mig in där nu genom att trycka F9 eller Delete, minns inte vilket, men det känns inte hållbart i längden... Hur ska jag göra för att fixa till det?

Alltså bl a en väldig massa 9.04-alternativ... Just 9.04 finns ju inte med nånstans på nån disk numera - kan jag radera dom alternativen helt? Hur ändrar jag för att det egentliga Ubuntu ska komma med som alternativ? Alltså, hur gör jag för att det ska komma upp en bootningsmeny vid uppstart?

Det här löste problemet:
I Ubuntu 10-04 Remix öppna en terminal och skriv
sudo grub-install /dev/sda
och därefter
sudo grub-install /dev/sdb
När det är klart skriver du i terminalen
sudo update-grub
Starta om datorn...
