ZevenOS 5.0: a lightweight Linux with a multimedia twist

There are Linux distributions out there for pretty much every taste and purpose, but every once in a while I'll come across one that seems especially intriguing.

That happened this week with the release of ZevenOS 5.0, a Linux distro that's based on the lightweight Xubuntu but adds a multimedia focus.

“I am proud to announce the release of ZevenOS 5.0,” reads the Tuesday announcement on the project site. “ZevenOS still is the best Linux distribution with a BeOS touch.”

BeOS, det är knappt jag kommer ihåg hur det såg ut.

ZevenOS är baserat på Xubuntu som är en av de allra bästa lättviktsdistributionerna, så ZevenOS är helt klart en dist som värd att testa.

Varför det? Vi har ju redan Xubuntu och lubuntu och dom är det ju raketfart på redan!

Roligt att ZevenOS tas upp, Leszek (huvudutvecklaren) har inte haft lätt och det var under en period tal på slänga handduken. Bra att han ej slängde handduken och att den får massmedial uppmärksamhet. En väldig jordnära utvecklare.
