Ödslade 3 livstimmar igår att försöka få dom nya ATI 9.2 drivisarna att fungear på min Ubuntu Intrepid installation med ATI X1950XT kort.
Nu ger jag tillfälligt upp och tänker nu fråga den svenska eliten av Ubuntu-användare. Vad gör jag för fel? Eller fungerar inte ATI:s drivisar på Intrepid eller för X1950XTX-kortet?
Vad är då problemet? Jo, jag får en delvis svart skärm efter uppstartssekvensen. Datorn försöker få igång bilden tre gånger sedan låser sig datorn med en konstig förvrängd svart bild med lite röda streck på. Det varierar lite olika från uppstart till uppstart. Efter alla omstarter igår så skulle jag ha kunnat ha printscreenat skärmbilderna och gjort en konstutställningen av dom.
Hur har då installationen gått tillväga? Jag har följt denna guide, http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu ... tion_Guide, enligt metod 2. Vill helst undvika att installera med ATI:s grafiska program (är rädd för att installations kan ställa till stora problem i systemet), det känns tryggast med paket-installationer. Jag har t.o.m. avinstallerat Xserver-xorg-video-radeon och fglrx-modaliases, jag har lagt till "fglrx" som DISABLED_MODULES i linux-restricted-modules-common, jag har lagt till en # före raden med fglrx i blacklist-local filen.
Det enda sättet med att får bort den svarta skärmen vid uppstart är att avinstallera xorg-driver-fglrx, det räcker inte med att ersätta fglrx i xorg.conf med vesa.
I filen Xorg.0.log finns inga errors, utan bara varningar (var tvungen att banta ner texten då forumet tillät max antal tecken, kunde inte heller bifoga filen
