Hur får jag bild på projjen på min bärbara HP Compaq [LÖST]

Jag har provat att plugga in en projektor i min bärbara för att visa bildspel och annat vid möten. Det har funkat tidigare utan att jag vetat exakt hur, men senaste gången pajjade skärmupplösningen helt och ingen bild någonstans.

Lite återställande från backuper räddade mig, men jag vill veta hur jag skall göra för att det skall funka.

Enligt hårdvaruanvisningarna skall jag trycka på Fn+F4 för att växla mellan skärm och projj, men inget verka hända när jag gör det. (Det brukar ju blinka till åtminstone- Finns det något annat hemligt Linux-kommando?)

Skärmen är en WideScreen. Kan upplösningen ställa till det? Vore bra om någon kunde ögna igenom min conf-fil så att det inte är något fel där.

Har det löst sig?
Jag är ingen expert på området, men att skicka bilden till lcd-skärmen eller vga-porten är nog inte något som ligger på operativsystemsnivå. Däremot kan jag tänka mig att upplösningen kan strula till det.
Koppla in en extern skärm istället och testa?
Projektorer kan klara ganska låga upplösningar, testa att ställ om till 1024-upplösning 4:3. Funkar?

Efter lite meck hittade jag lösningen.

Datorn hittar den externa skärmen/projjen så snart man kopplar in den, men den aktiveras inte automatiskt - eller med Fn+F4. I stället får man gå in under Inställningar och Skärmupplösning. Där ser man då två skärmar i rutan och man skall klicka i "Speglad" ovanför så visas samma bild på både den inbyggda skärmen och den externa.'

Jag insåg också att man där kunde testa lite olika upplösningar med antingen den inbyggda eller externa skärmen "förklickad". Exakt hur det fungerar har jag inte riktigt behövt begripa mig på, men det finns säkert tillfällen då det kan vara bra att pilla med det.

Jag är fortfarande lite nyfiken på om det är min fantastiska datormodell som kräver att jag gör på det här sättet eller om det är "standard procedure" i Ubuntu att gå in under Inställningar/Skärmupplösning och manuellt klicka i när man vill köra via en extern skärm/projektor. Nåväl, när jag byter burk får jag väl svar på det med...
