Nätverkskortet/drivrutiner lägger av?

Hej

Har ett Intel 2200 BG Pro trådlöst nätverkskort i min laptop. Jag har fått det att fungera perfekt i ubuntu, men nu har det plötsligt lagt av. Utan att jag gjort något särskilt med systemet. Se bifogade filer om vad som står under uppstarten av datorn. Det konstiga är att efter många omstarter med negativt resultat funkade det plötsligt igen! Tills jag åter startade om datorn.. Så nu får jag ingen som helst reaktion från nätverkskortet, precis som att det inte finns där.

Om jag bootar upp windows istället funkar det hur bra som helst.

Nån som har nån idé?

Samma information hittar du i filen dmesg. För att kopiera hit kan du köra i en terminal;

cat /var/log/dmesg

kopiera och klistra in här.
Xubuntu på flera maskiner. Men inte Unity!
Mer Terminalanvändande i Ubuntu vore bra. Och Xfce. Och Mate.

Enligt ifconfig så har inte eth0 något IP-nummer.

Kanske det går bättre om du själv redigerar detta via terminalen sålunda:

sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces

Det kan se ut såhär:
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.249
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.250

auto eth0

Ändra adresserna till ditt subnet, alltså 192.168.1.xx eller vad du nu kör. Rör inte det andra om "loopback och "lo".

Kolla också så att inte filen interfaces har dubletter längre ned. Jag hade det en gång, med dubbla uppsättningar ca 30-40 blankrader längre ned.

Eventuellt kan det också vara så att det strular just vid uppstarten. Då kan du via terminlaen starta om nätverket med;

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

Hoppsa detta hjälper dig annars kan det löna sig att söka i det amerikanska forumet på just ditt nätvekskort.

nu har jag läst runt lite mer på nätet och rotat i datorn.
problemet verkade till en början vara att drivrutinerna inte fanns på rätt plats.

fick fart på kalaset genom att kopiera in drivrutinerna i en (ny?) kernel-mapp i /lib/firmware/. Detta gjorde att datorn startade upp normalt och internet funkade. Ett tag.
Vad som sen hände var att uppdateringshanteraren började tanka ner grejer, däribland en ny kernel eller nåt? Iallafall tillkom det en ny mapp i /lib/firmware.

De mappar i /lib/firmware jag pratar om är:
2.6.24-21-generic (i denna fanns drivrutinerna ipw2200-bss.fw, ipw2200-ibs.fw och ipw2200-sniffer.fw sedan innan)
2.6.27-7-generic (denna mapp innehöll inte nyss nämnda filer, men jag kopierade in dom och då funkade det)
2.6.27-9-generic (denna mapp dök upp när allt började fungera igen och datorn uppdaterades, men internet la då av igen, och det hjälper inte att kopiera in filerna där)

Det verkar som att det ibland går att få fart på internet genom att boota upp kernel 2.6.27-7-generic i grub, men det är inte nån säker metod det heller. bootar jag upp den första i listan får jag problem med grafiken, så det är inte heller nån lösning nu.

men mycket av det där är grekiskan för mig, och det verkar röra sig om äldre versioner av ubuntu.

Installing ALL generic and 386 kernel image module packages fixed my wireless card and sound problems (neither were detected and modules would NOT load even though they were in the /lib/ directory.)

Vilket jag skulle tolka som att gå in i Synaptic och leta upp alla modul-paket, både för generic och -386 och ominstallera dem.

Du kan ju testa.
Xubuntu på flera maskiner. Men inte Unity!
Mer Terminalanvändande i Ubuntu vore bra. Och Xfce. Och Mate.

hittade i en annan sån bug-rapport det här kommandot som jag körde:

apt-get install --reinstall linux-restricted-modules-common

vilket fungerade efter en omstart. hoppas det gör det fortsättningsvis också. annars provar jag ditt exempel!

fanken, det fungerade inte länge alls. vad trött jag blir!

nu blir det att försöka installera om dom här modulpaketen. men när jag kollar i synaptic vet jag inte riktigt vad det är jag ska ladda ner? nån som har några mer exakta namn på vad jag letar efter?

shit, nu börjar jag tröttna på det här. funkar nån enstaka gång ibland, slumpen verkar avgöra. installerade nån backports-module som gjorde att ibland när det borde fungera kommer det upp en lösenordsruta som ber mig mata in det redan ifyllda lösenordet, men det är omöjligt att logga in.


några idéer???

senaste nytt. upptäckte efter ett tag att under uppstarten av datorn då felmeddelandena från det första inlägget visade sig så lät dvd-spelaren som om den försökte läsa. skivan jag hade i har suttit i länge, och den är förmodligen lite halvpaj, vill sällan låta sig läsas. så jag testade helt enkelt att ta ur dvd:n ur spelaren. och sedan dess har jag inte haft något problem med drivrutinerna!! fast man ska väl inte ropa hej än med tanke på att alla andra framsteg i den här tråden visat sig vara tillfälliga.

MEN. problemet från förra inlägget kvarstår. nu dyker det upp en lösenordsruta till nätverket, men det är omöjligt att logga in. och att lösenordet är rätt är jag 110% säker på. jag kan boota upp med en tidigare kernel och slippa det problemet, men inte heller det är särskilt stabilt. Nån som vet hur man får tillbaka det gamla?
