Hur använder jag min HDTV som skärm?

Hej!

Jag vill använda min HDTV som en andra monitor, men inte riktigt hur jag ska börja?

Jag har kopplatvia en DVI till HDMI kabel från min dator till min HDTV, men ingenstans hittar jag ett alternativ för att aktivera en andra skärm.  Jag har provat att använda nvidia-settings, men hittar inget där som verkar hjälpa....

Jag har följande CPU och integrerat grafikkort:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.3GHz
Geforce 6150 - VGA + DVI-D

nvidia-settings är rätt ställe att leta, dock kan du behöva köra sudo nvidia-settings i en terminal för att få rättigheter att spara en ny configurations fil.
Vad har du för TV och vad har den för anslutningsmöjligheter? Har du testat att starta datorn med TV'n kopplad och sen försöka hitta den i nvidia-settings?

gksudo nvidia-settings

sudo - För allt som görs i terminalen.
gksudo - För alla program med GUI man vill öppna med rättigheter.

Hmm, när jag använde gksudo så lyckades jag fixa till det?
Tackar. :-)

Nu måste jag bara lista ut hur jag får hela desktopen i TV:n. Just nu har jag allt utom menyerna på toppen och botten...
Kör separat X view. Med Twinview verkar det inte bli bättre då upplösningen bara är 1280x720 på TV:n och 1680x1050 på min monitor.
Jag har en Andersson Y375 FHD Digital så den borde klara en upplösning på ca 1920 x 1080 tycker jag... TV:n har två HDMI-ingångar, en VGA, en för komponent och två för SCART. Mitt grafikkort har en för komponentutgång, en DVI och en VGA. Jag tänker använda DVI-utgången och HDMI-ingången.

vill minnas att det finns ett grafiskt verktyg i nvidia-settings för att sköta det, har du testat det?

Har fortfarande problem med hur bilden ritas upp och dess upplösning. Det är en full-HD TV så den borde väl klara upplösningar kring 1920x1080 ?
Dessutom ritar den inte hela bilden "innanför" så man ser knappt menyfälten. Bifogar bild.

Har påtat lite till, bland annat genererat egna mode lines med gtf.
Den här har jag modiferat manuellt, men det fungerar fortfarande inte.  ???
